DU CSAS Allotment 16 July 2026: What to Do After You Receive a Seat

The Career Plan B logo is displayed in the top-left corner. The headline reads “DU CSAS Allotment 16 July 2026: What to Do After You Receive a Seat” in bold blue and green text, with “What to Do After” highlighted in yellow against a light beige background. On the right, an illustration shows a student with a backpack reviewing documents beside an allotment result clipboard, with a Delhi University-style academic building, books, and trees in the background. Introduction

The University of Delhi released the DU CSAS Round 1 seat allotment on July 16, 2026. Candidates can check their results on the official portal at ugadmission.uod.ac.in. Delhi University (DU) conducts undergraduate admissions through the Common Seat Allocation System (CSAS). The university allocates seats based on candidates’ CUET UG 2026 scores and their preferred college-programme combinations.

Receiving an allotment is not the end of the process. It is the beginning of a strict five-day window in which you must accept the seat, get your documents verified, and pay the admission fee. Missing any one step leads to automatic cancellation of the allotment. This guide walks you through every action to take after receiving your DU CSAS Round 1 allotment.

For Personalized Guidance

Step 1: Accept Your Allotted Seat (Deadline: July 18, 11:59 PM)

Log in to the portal and accept your seat. This is the first and most time-critical step.

How to accept your seat:

  1. Go to ugadmission.uod.ac.in
  2. Log in with your CUET UG 2026 application number and password
  3. Open your candidate dashboard
  4. Click “Accept” against your allotted seat
  5. Confirm the action

Failing to accept by July 18 cancels your seat automatically. You may also be excluded from future CSAS rounds.

Understanding Your Allotment

The seat you receive is the best possible match from your submitted preference list. The system considers your CUET UG 2026 scores, the order of your preferences, and category-wise cut-offs. This is a provisional allotment. Final admission is confirmed only after document verification and fee payment are complete.

If You Do Not Want the Allotted Seat

If the seat you received is not your first choice but you want to try for a better one in Round 2, accept the seat now and then select the Upgrade option. This keeps your current seat safe while you remain in the running for a higher preference.

If you want to leave the DU admission process entirely, you can withdraw. But once you withdraw, you cannot come back into the CSAS process this year.

Step 2: Document Verification (July 16 – July 20, 2026)

Once you accept, the allotted college verifies your uploaded documents through the portal. No physical visit is required at this stage unless the college specifically asks for one.

Verification window: July 16 to July 20, 2026 (until 4:59 PM)

Documents Required

For all candidates:

  • CUET UG 2026 Scorecard
  • Class 12 Marksheet and Passing Certificate
  • Class 10 Marksheet or Certificate (date of birth proof)
  • Passport-size photograph (recent, white background)
  • Scanned signature

Category-specific (submit only what applies):

  • SC/ST Certificate — from a competent authority, currently valid
  • OBC-NCL Certificate — Non-Creamy Layer, issued in FY 2025-26
  • EWS Certificate — issued in FY 2025-26
  • PwBD Certificate — from a recognized medical board
  • CW / Defence / Sports — relevant certificate for sub-category claimed

For candidates from non-CBSE or non-Delhi boards:

  • Migration Certificate from the previous board
  • School Leaving / Transfer Certificate
  • Character Certificate from the school principal

Tips for Document Upload

  • Make sure every file is clear and easy to read. Blurry scans are the most common reason for verification queries.
  • Check that the file is within the size limit set on the portal.
  • OBC-NCL and EWS certificates must be from the current financial year (2025-26). An older certificate will be rejected.
  • SC/ST certificates must come from the designated competent authority for your state.

What the College Can Do

The college takes one of three actions:

  • Approved — Documents accepted; fee payment link activates on your dashboard
  • Query Raised — A correction or additional document is needed; resolve it immediately
  • Rejected — Documents are found ineligible; this can impact your admission

Check your dashboard at least twice daily. Alerts also go to your registered email and mobile number.

Step 3: Pay the Admission Fee (Deadline: July 21, 11:59 PM)

After approval, a payment link becomes active on your dashboard. Completing payment secures your provisional admission for Round 1.

How to pay:

  1. Log in to ugadmission.uod.ac.in
  2. Go to your dashboard — the fee section becomes active post-approval
  3. Click “Pay Fee” or “Proceed to Payment”
  4. Confirm the fee amount for your programme and category
  5. Pay via Net Banking, UPI, Debit Card, or Credit Card
  6. Save your payment receipt and note the Transaction ID

Pay as soon as the link is active. Don’t wait until the July 21 deadline — portal congestion is common in the final hours. If a payment fails after money is deducted, contact your bank and the DU helpline. Such transactions are typically reversed within a few working days.

What Provisional Admission Means

Once you pay the fee, your status changes to “provisionally admitted.” This does not mean admission is final. The university will still cross-check your CUET scores, verify your category certificates, and confirm your subject eligibility for the programme. Admission becomes final only after all these checks are cleared and you report to the college physically on the date it sets.

Step 4: Choose Upgrade, Freeze, or Withdraw (Deadline: July 21, 11:59 PM)

After paying the fee, you must select one of three options on the portal. The deadline for this is also July 21, 2026, 11:59 PM.

Upgrade

Choose Upgrade if you want a shot at a higher-preference college or programme in Round 2.

  • The system checks your preference list for any better match above your current allotment
  • If a better match exists in Round 2, you move there automatically
  • If not, your Round 1 seat is retained
  • You can reorder your higher preferences on the portal until July 21, 11:59 PM
  • Remove any options you are no longer interested in before selecting Upgrade

Freeze

Choose Freeze if you are satisfied with your current allotment.

  • Your seat is locked and no further movement happens
  • You are out of all future CSAS rounds
  • Best suited if your allotted college-programme combination is among your top choices

Withdraw

Choose Withdraw only if you plan to leave the DU admission process entirely.

  • The action is irreversible within this admission session
  • Check the official refund policy before withdrawing — fees may not be returned
  • If unsure, select Upgrade and wait for Round 2 results before deciding

What If You Did Not Get a Seat in Round 1?

If your dashboard shows no allotment:

  • Do not withdraw from the process
  • Review and reorder your preference list before Round 2
  • Seats vacated by candidates who withdrew or missed deadlines in Round 1 re-enter the pool for Round 2
  • Round 2 allotment is on July 25, 2026
  • Keep all documents ready to act quickly once a seat is allotted
