NEET PG Answer Key and Scorecard 2026: Score & Next Steps

Banner text detailing NEET PG answer key and scorecard 2026 with score and next steps, featuring an NTA logo, an answer key clipboard, and a computer showing total scores.

The wait is over. Information that was still expected when we published our earlier NEET PG Answer Key 2026 guide is now officially available. NBEMS has released the NEET PG answer key and scorecard 2026 for candidates through its applicant login. The result was declared on September 24, while individual scorecards and question-wise answer and response details became available from October 1.

The release follows the Supreme Court’s directions on transparency in NEET-PG, including publication of raw scores and answer keys.

This update focuses on what changed on October 1, what the scorecard contains, the current answer-key objection status, and what candidates should do before counselling begins.

What’s Confirmed Now — NEET PG Answer Key, Response Details and Scorecard

NBEMS now lists “Scorecard and Answer Key of NEET-PG 2026” on its official notice board. Candidates can access the relevant information through the individual applicant login on the official NBEMS website.

The NEET PG 2026 result covered candidates from the August 30 examination and the September 5 re-examination. NBEMS data cited in the result announcement records 2,63,544 candidates in the main examination and 2,416 candidates in the re-examination, taking the total to about 2.66 lakh candidates.

The three records serve different purposes:

Record What candidates can use it for
NEET PG 2026 Result Checking raw marks and All India Rank
Question-wise Answer and Response Details Checking the correct answer, recorded response and marks awarded for each question
NEET PG 2026 Scorecard Preserving the candidate’s individual result details for admission and counselling

NBEMS has also clarified that candidates should check the answer information available through their own applicant login. Question order and answer-key IDs can differ because options and questions were shuffled across candidates.

The Supreme Court’s April 29, 2025 judgment specifically directed publication of raw scores and answer keys as part of greater transparency in multi-shift NEET-PG examinations.

NEET PG Scorecard 2026 — What Does It Show?

The NEET PG 2026 scorecard is now one of the most important documents for qualified candidates. The result PDF tells you your published marks and rank. The individual scorecard gives you a candidate-specific record that you should preserve for the admission process.

Your scorecard should be checked for key result information such as your candidate details, NEET PG score, rank and qualifying status. NBEMS has also stated that the scorecard can mention the MBBS/FMGE aggregate marks supplied in the application form where those marks were used as a tie-breaking criterion. Candidates must ensure that the information supplied in the application form was accurate because incorrect information used in tie-breaking can affect candidature.

Score vs rank vs cutoff

These three figures answer different questions.

Score: How many marks you obtained in NEET PG.

All India Rank: Your overall merit position among candidates who appeared for the examination. NBEMS states that it arrived at the rank using actual marks and the applicable tie-breaking criteria.

Qualifying cutoff: The minimum percentile or corresponding score required to qualify.

Qualifying NEET PG does not itself guarantee admission to a particular college or speciality. Counselling depends on merit, category, seat availability, eligibility rules and the choices submitted by the candidate.

How long can you download the scorecard?

NBEMS has specified that individual scorecards remain available for six months from the date of issuance. Candidates should download and store the document instead of waiting until the end of the availability period.

That matters because the scorecard can become an important document during registration, verification and admission.

NEET PG 2026 Answer Key — What Can You Check Now?

The October 1 release provides candidates with much more useful information than a simple answer list.

Through the individual applicant login, candidates can check:

  • Question ID numbers
  • Correct answer key ID
  • Response ID marked by the candidate
  • Whether the question was attempted
  • Marks awarded for each question

NBEMS uses a +4, −1 and 0 marking scheme for correct, incorrect and unattempted questions. The paper carries a maximum of 720 marks.

The question-wise details help candidates verify their result against their recorded responses. They also make it easier to identify an unexpected difference between your memory of the exam and the marks actually awarded.

We already covered the basics of the response sheet, downloading process and NEET PG 2026 score calculation in our earlier guide. This October update adds the new scorecard information and the confirmed post-result position.

NEET PG 2026 Objection Status — Can You Challenge the Answer Key?

At present, candidates do not have an objection or challenge facility for the released NEET PG 2026 answer key.

NBEMS stated in its result communication that every question in both question papers was reviewed by faculty members from the concerned specialty after the examination. The review covered the technical correctness of both the questions and answer keys. NBEMS said that none of the questions was found technically incorrect.

That means candidates should not assume that an objection window will automatically open just because an answer key has been released.

What should you do if you find a possible discrepancy?

Check your own question-wise response information first. Compare the recorded response with the correct answer shown in your applicant login. Recheck the marks awarded for that question.

Candidates with a genuine issue related to their individual record should use the official NBEMS communication channels rather than rely on social-media posts or unofficial objection forms. The October 1 update does not provide a candidate answer-key challenge process.

Have Any Doubts?

NEET PG 2026 Cutoff — What Does Your Score Mean?

NBEMS has already published the qualifying cutoff for NEET PG 2026.

Category Qualifying Percentile Qualifying Marks
General/EWS 50th percentile 262
General PwBD 45th percentile 244
SC/ST/OBC, including PwBD in these categories 40th percentile 226

These are qualifying cutoffs, not college-wise closing cutoffs. A candidate who clears the qualifying level still needs to check counselling rules, seat availability and the eventual closing ranks for preferred courses and colleges.

Your NEET PG raw score can tell you whether you qualified. Your rank becomes more useful when you start planning your counselling choices.

What’s Next After NEET PG 2026 Scorecard?

The next major stage is NEET PG 2026 counselling.

As of October 1, the official MCC PG Medical Counselling page states that the seat matrix from NMC and NBEMS is awaited for commencement of PG Counselling 2026. The detailed general counselling schedule has not yet been posted on the MCC page.

Candidates should avoid treating unofficial dates as confirmed NEET PG counselling dates until MCC publishes the schedule.

What should candidates prepare now?

Use this waiting period to organise your counselling strategy.

  • Download your scorecard and preserve it.
  • Note your NEET PG score, AIR and qualifying status.
  • Review your preferred clinical and non-clinical specialities.
  • Check recognised colleges and courses through official NMC information.
  • Keep category, internship and academic documents ready.

MCC handles online counselling for the applicable All India Quota postgraduate seats and other categories assigned to it. State and Union Territory authorities prepare their respective state quota merit lists according to their applicable eligibility and reservation rules.

The official MCC PG Medical Counselling portal should remain your main reference for the central counselling schedule.
