Introduction

JIPMAT 2026 was conducted by the National Testing Agency on June 7, 2026, in Computer-Based Test mode from 3:00 PM to 5:30 PM across 101 exam centres in 73 cities. The result was released on June 25, 2026.

That was Step 1: What comes next is where most students lose momentum.

JIPMAT does NOT have a common counselling platform. IIM Jammu and IIM Bodh Gaya conduct their admission processes independently on their own portals. Candidates must apply to both separately.

This single fact changes your post-result strategy entirely. You are not waiting for a centralised seat allotment. You are actively managing two separate admission timelines simultaneously. One wrong deadline missed at either IIM means losing a seat you earned through the exam.

This guide walks you through every step of the JIPMAT admission 2026 process in the exact order it happens, for both IIM Bodh Gaya and IIM Jammu.

Step 1: Download Your JIPMAT 2026 Scorecard

The JIPMAT 2026 scorecard will display the candidate’s personal details, section-wise and total raw scores, overall percentile, and category/subcategory information. The scorecard is valid only for the 2026-27 admission year.

How to download it:

  1. Visit the official NTA JIPMAT website at (NTA JIPMAT)
  2. Click the JIPMAT Result 2026 link on the homepage
  3. Enter your application number, password or date of birth, and security pin
  4. Click Submit to view your scorecard
  5. Download the PDF and take a printout immediately

Do not delay this. The scorecard is your primary document for both IIM admission processes. Losing access to your login credentials at this stage creates unnecessary delays.

Step 2: Check Your Eligibility Against Each IIM’s Cutoff

There are NO GD-PI-WAT rounds for JIPMAT admission at IIM Bodh Gaya. The selection is purely merit-based based on scorecard and academic performance. IIM Jammu’s process is slightly different and includes additional criteria.

Understanding which IIM’s cutoff you clear, and which selection model each uses, determines your next action.

IIM Bodh Gaya Cutoff 2026

Based on the moderate overall difficulty of the June 7 exam and previous year trends, the expected JIPMAT 2026 cutoff for General category is 305 to 320-plus marks for IIM Bodh Gaya. In 2025, IIM Bodh Gaya’s first-list General cutoff was 333-plus marks.(IIM Bodh Gaya)

IIM Bodh Gaya has a seat intake of 120. It releases category-wise cutoffs in marks, making it transparent and straightforward to assess eligibility. Once the official merit list is published, your name either appears or it does not.

IIM Jammu Cutoff 2026

The minimum cutoff percentile for IIM Jammu is 50 in each section for the General category. For reserved categories, the cutoff percentile is between 25 and 35.

The expected JIPMAT 2026 cutoff for IIM Jammu is 315 to 330-plus marks for the General category.(IIM Jammu)

IIM Jammu offers 140 seats and prepares its final merit list using 70% JIPMAT score, 15% Class 10 marks, 15% Class 12 marks, and additional weightage for gender diversity.

The practical implication: At IIM Bodh Gaya, your JIPMAT score is the dominant factor. At IIM Jammu, even a slightly lower JIPMAT score can be compensated by exceptional Class 10 and 12 marks. Apply to both regardless of where you think you stand.

Step 3: Register Expression of Interest at Each IIM Separately

The counselling process begins after the JIPMAT 2026 result is declared by NTA. Candidates must register their Expression of Interest on the respective IIM portals to be considered for seat allotment.

This is the step most candidates delay. Do not.

Both IIMs open their EoI or shortlisting registration windows within days of the NTA result. Missing the EoI window means you are not considered for the merit list, regardless of your score.

For IIM Bodh Gaya: Monitor the official IIM Bodh Gaya admissions portal. The 2025 process saw 14 confirmed lists released between July and September, reflecting the rolling admission system used by IIM Bodh Gaya.

For IIM Jammu: Monitor the IIM Jammu admission policy page. A candidate receiving an admission offer from IIM Jammu has to pay an offer acceptance amount of Rs 50,000 within the stipulated date.

Set calendar reminders for both portals from the day your scorecard is downloaded.

Step 4: Merit List Publication and Shortlisting

After the declaration of the JIPMAT 2026 result, shortlisted candidates will proceed to the admission and counselling stages. Participating IIMs release category-wise merit lists. Candidates meeting the cutoff criteria are shortlisted.

The merit lists at both IIMs are released in multiple rounds. IIM Bodh Gaya released 14 lists across July and September in 2025. This rolling approach means students who do not make the first list may still receive offers in subsequent rounds as earlier-admitted students withdraw.

Do not withdraw from IIM Bodh Gaya to wait for IIM Jammu unless you have a confirmed offer from Jammu. Seat availability in later rounds is not guaranteed.

IIM Jammu’s Composite Merit Score

For IIM Jammu, the admission policy has changed for the 2026 batch. This year, the institute will not rely solely on JIPMAT scores. Instead, it has introduced weightage for Class 10 and Class 12 academic performance, making the evaluation more balanced.

IIM Jammu also considers gender diversity while finalizing the list. Female candidates receive additional weightage in the composite score, making IIM Jammu meaningfully more accessible for female applicants at the same raw JIPMAT score as male applicants.

Step 5: WAT, GD, and PI Rounds (IIM Jammu Only)

This is the step where IIM Bodh Gaya and IIM Jammu diverge most significantly.

Since there is no interview or written ability test at IIM Bodh Gaya, admission largely depends on JIPMAT performance and institute-specific merit criteria.

At IIM Jammu, the process includes additional selection rounds. IIM Bodh Gaya and IIM Jammu follow the selection procedure which includes Written Ability Test, Group Discussion, and Personal Interview rounds.(Eligibility Criteria)

Based on 2026 official data, both IIMs send shortlist call letters directly to registered email IDs. Check your registered email daily from the week of result declaration onward. Both IIMs also confirm shortlisting via speed post to the mailing address provided during registration.

WAT preparation for IIM Jammu: A 20-minute structured essay on a business or social topic. Clear position-taking, specific examples, and structured argument flow are the three elements that separate strong WAT responses from weak ones. Practice writing 200-word essays under timed conditions.

PI preparation for IIM Jammu: Interviewers assess intellectual curiosity, career motivation, awareness of current affairs, and understanding of the IPM programme’s structure. A candidate who cannot explain why they want an IIM MBA at age 17 instead of pursuing it after graduation will consistently underperform in this round.

Step 6: Document Verification

Candidates must submit academic and identity documents.

Prepare these documents before the merit list is even published. Having them ready removes the time pressure that causes errors during submission.

Documents required for JIPMAT 2026 admission:

  • JIPMAT 2026 scorecard (downloaded from NTA portal)
  • Class 10 mark sheet and passing certificate
  • Class 12 mark sheet and passing certificate (or provisional certificate if awaiting results)
  • Date of birth proof (Class 10 certificate or Aadhaar card)
  • Category certificate (SC, ST, OBC-NCL, EWS as applicable, issued by competent authority)
  • PwD certificate if applicable
  • Passport-sized photographs (recent, white background)
  • Valid government-issued ID proof (Aadhaar, passport, or voter ID)

Category certificates must be in the correct format specified by Government of India norms. An incorrect certificate format is one of the most common reasons for document rejection at this stage.

Step 7: Offer Acceptance and Fee Payment

This is the final gate between a merit list position and a confirmed seat.

A candidate receiving an admission offer from IIM Jammu has to pay an offer acceptance amount of Rs 50,000 within the stipulated date. If a candidate accepts the admission offer for the programme, his or her offer acceptance amount will be adjusted against the Semester I fee.

Candidates who withdraw their admission by August 2, 2026, will receive a refund after a ₹1,000 processing deduction. No refund of the offer acceptance amount or semester fee will be provided for withdrawals made after the registration process.

Read both IIM’s refund policies carefully before paying. The withdrawal deadline is the most financially consequential deadline in the entire JIPMAT admission process.
