NPAT Colleges and Campuses Compared: Mumbai vs Bengaluru vs Hyderabad

Career Plan B logo with NPAT colleges and campuses compared, showcasing NMIMS Mumbai, Bengaluru, and Hyderabad campuses for BBA admissions

Introduction

Every NPAT aspirant eventually faces the same decision. They know they want NMIMS. They know they are prepared for the exam. What they are not sure about is which campus.

It is a more consequential choice than most realise.

NMIMS runs seven campuses across India, all admitted through NPAT. The brand on your degree says NMIMS regardless of campus. But the programmes available, the annual fees, the placement depth, and the city ecosystem you graduate into are meaningfully different across Mumbai, Bengaluru, and Hyderabad. Choosing based on the brand alone, without understanding these differences, can lead to paying Rs 4 lakh per year for a programme that delivers what a Rs 2.75 lakh campus could have given you, or missing a specialisation that only exists at one campus.

This guide compares the three most-discussed NMIMS campuses for NPAT aspirants, using official data from NMIMS and verified 2025 placement reports.

NMIMS Mumbai: The Flagship Standard

The NMIMS Mumbai campus is the institutional benchmark for everything that follows. Established 44 years ago, it has grown into a multi-disciplinary university covering nine constituent schools including Management, Engineering, Pharmacy, Law, and Aviation.

For NPAT aspirants, the relevant school is the Anil Surendra Modi School of Commerce (ASMSOC), which houses BBA, B.Com, B.Sc. Finance, and related undergraduate programmes. Mumbai is also the only campus where the Integrated BBA-MBA, BBA FinTech, BBA Branding and Advertising, BBA International Business, and BBA Management and Marketing programmes are available.

Programmes offered at Mumbai through NPAT:

  • BBA, B.Com, B.Sc. Finance, BBA FinTech, Integrated BBA-MBA
  • B.Sc. Economics
  • BA Liberal Arts
  • BBA Branding and Advertising
  • BBA International Business (dual degree with Kingston University, London)
  • BBA Management and Marketing
  • BBA Finance

No other NMIMS campus offers this range. If you want the Integrated BBA-MBA or the Kingston University dual degree, Mumbai is your only option.

Annual fees (2025 batch reference):

  • BBA: Rs 4,00,000 per annum
  • B.Com: Rs 2,80,000 per annum
  • B.Sc. Finance: Rs 4,00,000 per annum
  • BBA FinTech: Rs 4,00,000 per annum
  • Integrated BBA-MBA: Rs 6,56,000 per annum
  • BBA Branding and Advertising: Rs 5,50,000 per annum
  • BBA International Business: Rs 5,06,000 per annum
  • BBA Management and Marketing: Rs 9,50,000 per annum

Placements 2025: ASMSOC saw 89 companies visiting the campus. The highest package for BBA was Rs 24.30 LPA. The average package for BBA was Rs 6.66 LPA, while B.Sc. Finance averaged Rs 8.67 LPA and B.Com averaged Rs 7.26 LPA. Top recruiters include Goldman Sachs, JP Morgan, EY, Accenture, Barclays, Bain Capability Network, CRISIL, American Express, and Bank of America.

Mumbai’s placement premium comes directly from its location. BFSI and consulting companies have a structural preference for visiting Mumbai-based campuses. That advantage does not transfer to any other NMIMS campus at the same depth.

Have Any Doubts?

NMIMS Bengaluru: The Technology and Analytics Campus

The NMIMS Bengaluru campus is situated off Bannerghatta Road in South Bengaluru. It was established later than Mumbai but has built a distinctive identity around Finance, Marketing, and Business Analytics specialisations at the postgraduate level, with those strengths filtering into the undergraduate placement profile.

For NPAT students, the programmes available at Bengaluru are focused but strong:

Programmes offered at Bengaluru through NPAT:

  • BBA
  • B.Com
  • B.Sc. Finance
  • B.Sc. Economics

The campus offers specialisations in Finance, Marketing, and Business Analytics at the MBA level. That institutional orientation shapes which companies visit for undergraduate placements. Technology firms, analytics companies, and IT consulting recruiters are more present at Bengaluru than at any other NMIMS campus.

Annual fees (2025 batch reference):

  • BBA: Rs 3,00,000 per annum (Rs 1 lakh less than Mumbai per year)
  • B.Com: Rs 1,50,000 per annum
  • B.Sc. Finance: Rs 3,40,000 per annum
  • B.Sc. Economics: Rs 2,75,000 per annum

Placements: NMIMS Bengaluru’s BBA average package typically ranges from Rs 5 to 8 LPA, with the highest package crossing Rs 72 LPA in past years at the postgraduate level. For the UG batch, 62 recruiters including 21 new recruiters participated in recent cycles. Companies like Accenture, Dell, CRISIL, HSBC, and JP Morgan Chase are active at this campus.

The Bengaluru location is the most practically useful campus advantage for students targeting IT, analytics, and technology management careers. India’s startup ecosystem, major technology companies, and data-driven businesses are concentrated in Bengaluru in a way no other city matches for these roles.

The honest comparison with Mumbai: Bengaluru’s average BBA placement is lower than Mumbai’s. The recruiter base is narrower. But the annual fee saving of Rs 1 lakh per year means a Rs 3 lakh saving over three years. For students targeting Bengaluru-sector careers in technology or analytics, this campus delivers the right ecosystem at a more accessible cost.

NMIMS Hyderabad: Largest Campus, Most Affordable Fees

The NMIMS Hyderabad campus, located at Jadcherla in the Mahbubnagar District of Telangana, is the youngest of the three in terms of Commerce programmes. BBA and B.Com were launched here only in 2019. But the campus itself is the largest in the entire NMIMS family.

That deserves a moment. The Hyderabad campus spans 90 acres. It is fully residential and offers world-class facilities including an international school, a sports complex with Olympic-standard facilities spread across 26 acres, and a comprehensive learning environment built around an integrated KG-to-Doctorate vision. The infrastructure quality at Hyderabad is genuinely superior to the Mumbai or Bengaluru campuses in terms of physical space and residential facilities.

Programmes offered at Hyderabad through NPAT:

  • BBA
  • B.Com

Hyderabad currently offers only two NPAT programmes, making it the most focused of the three campuses. The limited programme options mean students who want B.Sc. Finance, B.Sc. Economics, or any specialised BBA track must look at Mumbai or Bengaluru instead.

Annual fees (2025 batch reference):

  • BBA: Rs 2,75,000 per annum (Rs 1.25 lakh less than Mumbai per year)
  • B.Com: Rs 1,50,000 per annum

Over three years, the BBA at Hyderabad costs Rs 8.25 lakh total, compared to Rs 12 lakh at Mumbai. That is a saving of Rs 3.75 lakh in tuition fees alone.

Placements: NMIMS Hyderabad School of Commerce recorded a highest package of Rs 10.50 LPA and an average of Rs 5.50 LPA in 2025, with 45 companies visiting including Tech Mahindra, Wipro, and Oracle. The recruiter base reflects the campus’s relative youth and its Telangana location, which is developing but not yet at the depth of Mumbai or Bengaluru.

The honest case for Hyderabad: The campus infrastructure is the strongest in the NMIMS network. The fees are the lowest. For students from Telangana and Andhra Pradesh who want to stay in the region after graduation, this campus offers the NMIMS brand at the most accessible price. The trade-off is a developing placement infrastructure that is improving but has not yet reached Mumbai or Bengaluru depth.

Who Should Choose Which Campus

Three honest profiles clarify this decision faster than any ranking.

Choose Mumbai if you want the widest programme choice including Integrated BBA-MBA, BBA FinTech, or the Kingston University dual degree. Mumbai is the only campus that offers these programmes. It is also the right choice if you are targeting BFSI or consulting careers where Mumbai’s financial capital advantage directly shapes which companies visit campus.

Choose Bengaluru if you are targeting analytics, IT management, or technology sector careers and want NMIMS brand value at Rs 1 lakh lower fees per year than Mumbai. The Bengaluru ecosystem for these careers is the strongest in India. A student who chooses Bengaluru for a technology or analytics career and performs well will access the same corporate employers as a Mumbai student targeting the same domain, at meaningfully lower cost.

Choose Hyderabad if you are from Telangana or Andhra Pradesh and want NMIMS brand access at the lowest annual fee in the network. The campus infrastructure is outstanding. The Rs 2.75 lakh per annum BBA fee with residential facilities on a 90-acre campus is a genuinely exceptional proposition for South Indian students who are not specifically targeting Mumbai or Bengaluru sector careers.

Conclusion

The NMIMS brand is consistent across all three campuses. The outcomes are not.

Mumbai is the placement leader for BFSI, consulting, and fintech roles, with the strongest recruiter base, the widest programme variety, and the highest packages. It is also the most expensive. Bengaluru is the right campus for technology and analytics careers, combining the NMIMS credential with Bengaluru’s dominant tech sector ecosystem at lower fees. Hyderabad offers the network’s lowest BBA fee on its largest campus with excellent residential infrastructure, but a developing placement base that suits South Indian students who are building regional careers.

None of these is the wrong choice. Each is the right choice for a specific profile. The decision should be made by matching your target career to the campus whose placement ecosystem serves it, not by defaulting to the campus name you recognise first.
