BA in Culinary Arts: Colleges, Fees, Career as a Chef After 12th

BA in Culinary Arts showing a chef preparing and plating food in a training kitchen.

Introduction

The image of a chef has transformed completely in the 21st century. Today, chefs are entrepreneurs, brand ambassadors, television personalities, food scientists, and global travellers. And behind every successful professional chef is a structured culinary education that gave them both the technical skill and the business sense to build a real career.

India’s hospitality and tourism industry is one of the country’s largest employers — and the demand for trained culinary professionals is growing as India’s food culture globalises, its restaurant industry expands, and its hospitality sector recovers and grows post-pandemic.

The National Council for Hotel Management and Catering Technology (NCHMCT), an autonomous body under the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India, is the apex body that regulates hospitality and culinary education through its network of Central Institutes of Hotel Management (IHMs), state government institutes, and affiliated private institutions across the country.
